The comic is set in 1990's Seattle at the birth of the Riot Grrrl [gurl] movement. Seen as the third wave of feminism Riot Grrrl wanted to promote "girl power," within the punk music scene. The story begins in the aftermath of the inexplicable death of a popular Grrrl band, The Broken Hearts. Local area zine publishers, Bunnie and her musically repressed partner, Kat find themselves in the middle of a "Grrrl Power" revolution as they search for the answer to the mysterious tragedy. When all their leads seem exhausted they meet Birdie a former grrrl band drummer, through music she helps them unravel the mysterious deaths of the Broken Hearts.
