The thing to keep in mind when creating animation ready designs is how difficult is it going to be to move things around. You are going to want to focus on simplicity of shape, line weight, and density of details. My name is Nick Butler and in this Turtledust tutorial I will take you through my process of creating an animation ready illustration using Adobe’s free illustration application Fresco.
Inspired by animated shows such as Adventure Time, Craig of the Creek, and Hilda. We will be using the iPad to illustrate characters and backgrounds, covering Fresco features such as:
- Importing PSDs into Fresco
- Creating and organizing Layers
- Using the Lasso tool and Masking
- Adjusting, Drawing and Clipping Vector Lines
- NEW Filling Reference Layers with the Paint Bucket
You can create your own illustration or download the sketch below and follow along.
