Summary

Good News is a project inspired by the debut album of BAM Alexander. Kenneth “Bam” Alexander Jr – Drummer, producer, writer and singer. Bam has contributed to hits such as Jay-Z’s “Show Me What You Got” from the Kingdom Come album released in 2006. Bam has also produced 2 songs that were featured in the 2009 film Dough Boys. He has toured with many artists, including R&B artist Bobby Valentino, a former member of Ludacris’ record label, Disturbing Tha Peace and Lupe Fiasco.

The project will transform Bam’s vision into a 13 part animated series following the adventures of Elle, a girl without a clan and Julia the daughter of a clan leader who doesn’t want to follow in her father footsteps.

The  two form a friendship that transends clan barriers and unite Bam City, a city divided.

BAM CITY

The city is a cultural hub, with every walk of life venturing into the metro area seeking fame and fortune. At the heart of BAM city is a beat and rhythm that is driven by its artistic clans. The Dance clan, the most prominent family being the Wolfgang’s of the old world, use their knowledge of choreography to guide and direct the citizenry of BAM City. The Art Clan which has moved from the walled confines of the gallery to the streets of BAM city. From its extravagantly commissioned murals decorating the sides of corporate buildings to the graffiti tucked away in the dark alleys, the art clan is without borders, telling the stories of the city with images. Music Clan whose rhythms, beats and melodies saturate the air waves of BAM city intermingling with the sounds of the city like the soundtrack of a movie. There are the purists who believe the artforms should stay strictly within their narrow definitions, but there are many arts which go ignored or forgotten, distant relatives of the core 3, and the one that will change the course of Elle’s creative expression, the martial arts.

Elle

Elle and her mother were without a clan when they were taken in by the Wolfgang family. For all of her effort to appear easy going Elle has a tough time letting her hair down. She is on a mission to prove she is good enough to be recognized as a member of the Wolfgang Dance Clan. No matter how hard she tries is always told by Sir Wolfgang, “there is just something missing”. Elle meets Teena, a martial arts instructor who sees potential not in her ability to dance, but her ability to fight. Elle doesn’t want to be a fighter, she wants to dance. Teena wins her over, never teaching her a single dance step she does show her how to go with the flow. Drawing on Elle’s inner fighter and releasing her inner dancer. Her new found power attracts the attention of the Shadow.

Julia

The most popular girl in their highschool and the unofficial princess of the Dance Clan. Julia, the daughter and heir of the Wolfgang Dance Academy carries a heavy burden, and a dark secret. The Wolfgang family is at the center of high society in BAM City. Serving as the Dance Clan’s representative on the Creative Council. Wrapped up in the power and politics of high society Julia longs to be able to simply focus on her dance. Julia’s desire to make her father happy and represent the family and the clan has made her vulnerable to the influences of the Shadow
