The marriage of Yui Tamishi and Joa Asano ended years of conflict between two families. With the birth of their daughter Ryoko there was peace, but the past has a way of finding the light of day. Promises made to the dead only lead to more death. In a world ruled by the sword, love often began and ended at the edge of the blade.
The death of Yui ignited the flames of war. Asano raised an army of warriors and assassins. The purchase of slaves from far of lands produced warriors of extraordinary gifts.
Two such warriors were the assassins of the Mist, Kage Kazumi the masked black skin assassin and Kin Kazumi the golden haired warrior. The two were trained to serve the family one by day and the other by night.
Both warriors were sworn to protect Ryoko one by day at her side and the other by night watching over her from the shadows. Both grew to love Ryoko and would do anything to keep her safe.
Many years had passed and the old wound had healed and begun to fade. The old Lord was tired, his blade had dulled and he enjoyed nothing more than the sound of children playing. “The old ways are fading away,” he would often say to his captains, but ways of the warrior never fade away; they only take on new forms.
For the fall of the Asano rule will come when the secrets of the night are exposed to the light of day.
